Dangote Refinery says the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, is yet to authorise it to release Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, to oil marketers.
IPMAN President, Abubakar Garima, said independent marketers had been unable to load petrol from the refinery even though they had N40 billion in outstanding payments to the NNPCL.
Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, while responding to some members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, said the Dangote Refinery has not received any payments from IPMAN to purchase refined petroleum products.
He added that the payment in mention has been made to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, and not the refinery. Clarifying further, he said NNPCL has neither approved, nor authorised the refinery to release Premium Motor Spirit to IPMAN.
In conclusion, Mr Chiejina urged IPMAN to register with the refinery and make direct payment as, according to him, there is more than enough petroleum products to satisfy the needs of their members.
