The Federal Government has dismissed reports of a security threat to Nigerians in Libya following a recent Confederation of African Football (CAF) ruling in favour of Nigeria. CAF had awarded 3 points to the Super Eagles and fined Libya $50,000 for mistreating the Nigerian team during a Nations Cup qualifying match.
Amid emerging reports of harassment faced by Nigerians in Libya after the ruling, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs assured that citizens in Libya remain safe and protected.
The ministry emphasised the government’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding its nationals abroad, reiterating that there was no cause for alarm.
