Electricity Distribution Companies, or DisCos, have announced another increase in meter prices, marking the second hike in recent months.
The new price structure takes effect from Tuesday, November 5, 2024, according to updates on DisCos’ social media pages. The price of a single-phase meter now ranges from approximately ₦117,000 to about ₦149,800, varying by DisCo and vendor.
A review by Channels Television shows that Eko DisCo, for example, lists its single-phase meter between ₦135,987.5 and ₦161,035, while the three-phase meter now costs between ₦226,600 and ₦266,600.
This development follows earlier concerns from consumers about the rising cost of electricity and meters, adding further financial pressure on households and businesses across the country.
