Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has announced a reshuffle of his cabinet, resulting in the removal of several high-ranking officials, including the Secretary to the State Government, the Chief of Staff, and six commissioners.
The governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, described the changes as a “pragmatic political realignment” aimed at bolstering the administration’s efficiency and aligning with its strategic objectives.

Among those affected is Shehu Wada Sagagi, the Chief of Staff, whose office has been entirely scrapped. The Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, was relieved of his duties due to health concerns. Other officials, including the Commissioner of Information and three additional commissioners, were either reassigned or dismissed.
Governor Yusuf said the restructuring is intended to enhance administrative performance and position his government for improved service delivery.
