The Federal High Court in Lagos has ruled that a warehouse and 54 steel containers, situated on a 1.9-hectare plot along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Magboro, Ogun State, be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government.
The property has been linked to former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele. Justice Deinde Dipeolu delivered the ruling on Thursday, acting on an application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The court noted that no individual or organisation had come forward to claim ownership of the property, despite a directive to publicise the interim forfeiture order.

At a previous sitting on 28 November 2024, the court had issued an interim forfeiture, instructing the EFCC to publish the details in a national newspaper to provide interested parties the opportunity to contest the order.
With no claims presented, the court proceeded to finalise the forfeiture.
