FG Declares December 25, 26, and January 1 as Public Holidays

The Federal Government has declared December 25 and 26, as well as January 1, 2025, as public holidays to mark Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day celebrations.

Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the announcement in a statement signed by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani. He extended festive greetings to Nigerians and called on citizens to reflect on the values of love, peace, and unity associated with the season.

Mr. Tunji-Ojo encouraged Nigerians to use the festive period to foster harmony within families and communities, emphasising the need for commitment to national peace, unity, and progress.

The minister also reaffirmed the government’s dedication to security and prosperity, adding that President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is poised to deliver a prosperous economy for all Nigerians.
