The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has announced that the Warri Refining and Petrochemicals Company (WRPC) in Delta State is now operational. This was disclosed by Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of NNPC, during a facility tour on Monday.
Kyari stated that the refinery is currently producing 125,000 barrels per day, although work on the facility is not yet fully completed.
“Gentlemen and ladies, we are taking you real into our plant. MD will lead the team. No, not for… I’m just… He’s just addressing. Just addressing. Not for camera. This is the plant. You’ll see reality yourself. This plant is running. We have not completed 100 percent. We are streaming the other part of the plant as we progress. But currently, this plant is running and you’ll see what is happening. There are many people who don’t think this is real. As you all know, a lot of media comes all over the place. People don’t believe real things can happen in our country. So, this is the plant. There are many people who don’t think this is real. We believe that this is right for our country. And all of us have a stake, including media people on this, so that this country becomes a greater place and it is already happening. I just want you to know that everything you see is real.”
