The National Assembly’s Joint Committee on Finance has significantly revised upward the 2025 revenue projections for the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, and the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, NDIC.
Following deliberations during budget defence sessions on Tuesday, the committee increased the NCS revenue target from ₦6.5 trillion to ₦12 trillion, while the NDIC’s projection was adjusted from ₦163 billion to ₦180 billion.

NCS Comptroller-General Adewale Adeniyi had initially presented a projection of ₦6.5 trillion for the service, citing a revenue performance of ₦6.1 trillion in 2024. However, committee co-chairmen Senator Sani Musa and Honourable James Faleke described the forecast as overly conservative, urging the agency to pursue a more ambitious target.
