The home-based Super Eagles of Nigeria have been placed in Group D of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), set to be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Originally slated for February 2025, the tournament has been rescheduled to August to allow host nations more time to complete infrastructure projects essential for the competition.

The draw, held on 15 January 2025 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi, pitted Nigeria against reigning champions Senegal, Sudan, and Congo.
Senegal, the defending titleholders, secured their maiden CHAN victory in 2022 with a triumphant win over Algeria and are widely tipped as favourites to emerge at the top of the group.
