Rangers defender Leon Balogun has insisted he has not retired from international football and remains available for selection by the Nigerian national team. The 36-year-old last played for Nigeria in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against São Tomé and PrÃncipe in June 2022, a match the Super Eagles won 10-0.
Balogun has been largely overlooked for international duty since then, primarily due to ongoing fitness concerns. However, his solid performances for Rangers this season have sparked renewed calls for his return to the Super Eagles.

Despite the extended absence from the national team, the former Brighton & Hove Albion player has confirmed he is still willing to represent Nigeria. Balogun, who has earned 46 caps and scored one goal for his country, made it clear he is open to a call-up should the opportunity arise.
