President Bola Tinubu has announced that his administration has successfully prosecuted and convicted over 100 terrorist financiers in the past two years. Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday at the opening of the 2025 National Anti-Money Laundering, Counter-Financing of Terrorism, and Proliferation Summit, Tinubu reaffirmed the government’s commitment to targeting the financial resources that sustain terrorist groups in the country.
Represented by George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), the president highlighted the critical role of private sector professionals, including lawyers and accountants, in safeguarding Nigeria’s resources. He described them as the first line of defence in the collective effort to protect the nation’s wealth.
