President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of the officers and men of the Nigerian Armed Forces, describing it as a top priority.
Speaking on Thursday at the groundbreaking ceremony for a new defence complex and the inauguration of an army barracks named in his honour in Abuja, President Tinubu expressed his deep appreciation for the sacrifices and dedication of the armed forces. He praised their efforts under the leadership of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, for safeguarding the nation.

The President also underscored the importance of boosting local production of military hardware to strengthen Nigeria’s domestic defence capabilities. He highlighted the contributions of the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria, the Command Engineering Depot of the Nigerian Army, and private sector players such as EPAIL and ProForce in advancing research and development in the sector.
Tinubu noted that enhancing self-reliance in defence production is crucial for national security and underscores his administration’s vision for a stronger and more self-sufficient military.
