Desmond Elliot, a third-term member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has called on Lagos residents to discourage roadside parking. The actor-turned-politician made the statement during the commissioning of four roads in the Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday.

Representing Surulere Constituency and serving as Chairman of the House Committee on Works, Elliot urged citizens to take ownership of the state’s roads. He warned against allowing articulated vehicles to turn these roads into parking spaces, stressing that they should remain clear for public use.

Reflecting on his previous tenure as chairman of the Works and Infrastructure Committee, Elliot praised the improvements seen in the last two years. He urged residents to ensure roads are used for their intended purpose, benefiting everyone, rather than being blocked by parked vehicles.

The event, attended by the Governor, his deputy Kadri Hamzat, Lagos Assembly Speaker Mojisola Meranda, and traditional rulers, highlighted the ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure in the state.
