The Court of Appeal in Abuja has upheld the proscription of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as a terrorist group.
In a unanimous ruling, a three-member panel led by Justice Hamma Barka affirmed the decision of the Federal High Court in Abuja, which had previously outlawed IPOB.

The appellate court concluded that there were no grounds to overturn the Federal Government’s action, which it deemed lawful. It stated that IPOB’s activities posed a significant threat to national security and the country’s continued existence.
The court dismissed IPOB’s appeal, finding it lacking in merit and resolving all issues in favour of the government’s stance.
