Dangote Refinery’s Price Cut Unlikely to Bring Immediate Relief to Consumers, Says Petroleum Retail Owners Association

The Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria, PETROAN, has stated that the recent reduction in petrol prices at the Dangote refinery is unlikely to have an immediate impact on consumers due to existing stock.

PETROAN President, Mr Billy Gillis-Harris, made the remarks while commenting on the refinery’s decision to lower its ex-depot price from ₦950 to ₦890 per litre on Saturday.

While welcoming the price reduction, Mr Gillis-Harris urged PETROAN members purchasing fuel at the new rate to ensure that the benefits are reflected at their retail outlets.

He further disclosed that PETROAN has already initiated a significant working relationship with Dangote Refinery and MRS, a leading petroleum retailer.
