Olu Agunloye, former Minister of Power and Steel

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has re-arraigned former Minister of Power and Steel, Olu Agunloye, before a Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja on a seven-count charge, including forgery, disobedience of presidential directives, and gratification.

Agunloye, who was first arraigned on 11 January 2024, was previously granted bail set at ₦50 million. The case centres on allegations that he awarded the $6 billion Mambilla hydropower contract to Sunrise Power and Transmission Company Limited on 22 May 2003 without budgetary provision, necessary approvals, or financial backing.
