Former Super Eagles defender Taye Taiwo has been honoured by Olympique Marseille, joining the club’s prestigious Hall of Fame.
Taiwo, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s finest left-backs, earned 54 international caps between 2004 and 2011, scoring five goals. At club level, he enjoyed an illustrious career, featuring for top European sides, including AC Milan and Queens Park Rangers.

Marseille was his gateway to European football, and he spent six successful years with the French giants, making 271 appearances and contributing 25 goals and 23 assists. His tenure saw him lift the Ligue 1 title, the French League Cup, and the Super Cup before moving to Milan in 2011.
Retiring in 2019, the 39-year-old has since settled in France. His induction into Marseille’s Hall of Fame cements his legacy as one of the club’s greats, recognising his impact on and off the pitch.
