US President Donald Trump has renewed his call for the mass displacement of Palestinians in Gaza, despite mounting condemnation from across the Middle East. Critics argue that the proposal amounts to ethnic cleansing.
Speaking ahead of a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday, President Trump described Gaza as a “demolition site,” portraying the plan as an effort to assist its residents.
The US President also reiterated that Gaza remained “unsafe” and “unsanitary,” even as much of the enclave lay in ruins after sustained Israeli bombardment.
Experts, however, maintain that rebuilding Gaza with its population intact is feasible, provided sufficient aid and temporary housing are made available.
