The Imo State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of the President of the Ohanaeze Youth Council, Igboayaka Igboayaka, by unidentified gunmen.
According to the National President of the Igbo National Council, Mr Chilos Godsent, the incident occurred on Saturday, February 8, when seven armed men, dressed in black, stormed Mr Igboayaka’s residence in the Works Layout area. Describing the abduction as a “Neo-Mafia Gestapo” operation, Mr Godsent raised the alarm over the activist’s disappearance.

Speaking to journalists on Sunday, the spokesperson for the Imo State Police Command, DSP Henry Okoye, stated that an investigation was underway to establish Mr Igboayaka’s whereabouts. He further clarified that the police had not arrested Mr Igboayaka and urged anyone with relevant information to come forward.
