The Lagos State House of Assembly has criticised what it describes as the unauthorised return of its suspended Clerk, Olalekan Onafeko, to the Assembly premises, weeks after his removal was announced on 13 January.
The Assembly’s Chief Security Officer, Kabir Kushoro, confirmed the development in a statement issued in Lagos on Wednesday.

Onafeko was suspended by a two-thirds majority of lawmakers over allegations of financial misappropriation. However, the legal battle over the position took a fresh turn when the National Industrial Court in Lagos ruled against the appointment of acting Clerk Babatunde Ottun, who had been installed by Speaker Mojisola Meranda.
The court has since ordered Onafeko’s reinstatement.
