The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the disbursement of ₦94.5 million to the families of 23 police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Speaking at the event, Mr Dalijan acknowledged that no financial compensation could ever replace the lives lost but described the support as a measure to alleviate the hardship faced by the bereaved families. He reaffirmed the police force’s commitment to honouring its fallen personnel and ensuring their dependents are not left without assistance.

The commissioner urged recipients to use the funds prudently, encouraging investment in ventures that would provide sustainable income as they await further entitlements from the force.
