A Federal High Court in Abuja has barred the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions from taking disciplinary action against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. The ruling follows an ex parte application by her legal team.
The senator had been summoned after a confrontation with Senate President Godswill Akpabio on 20 February. She argued that any action taken while the matter remains in court should be deemed null and void. She also sought permission to serve the defendants through substituted means.

Justice Obiora Egwuatu directed the defendants to explain within 72 hours why an interlocutory injunction should not be issued against them. He also approved her request for substituted service.
The case has been adjourned to 10 March for further proceedings.
