Chelle Names Final Super Eagles Squad for World Cup Qualifiers

Super Eagles head coach Éric Sékou Chelle has unveiled his final 23-man squad for Nigeria’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.  

Goalkeepers Stanley Nwabali and Kayode Bankole have been included, while the defensive unit features William Ekong, Calvin Bassey, Olaoluwa Aina, Bruno Onyemaechi, and Bright Osayi-Samuel. In midfield, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Raphael Onyedika, and Alhassan Yusuf Abdullahi make the cut, with the attack spearheaded by Ademola Lookman, Victor Osimhen, and Moses Simon.

Czech Republic-based defender Igoh Ogbu has secured a place in the squad, along with home-based midfielder Papa Daniel Mustapha. Belgium-based forward Tolu Arokodare is also named among the forwards, joining Samuel Chukwueze and Sadiq Umar.  

Nigeria will face Group C leaders Rwanda in Kigali on Friday, 21 March, before hosting Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo four days later.
