Igbo socio-cultural group Ohanaeze Ndigbo has condemned the killing of several Northerners in Uromi, Edo State, describing the incident as deeply distressing.
In a statement, National Publicity Secretary Ezechi Chukwu urged security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The group also criticised what it called ‘prejudiced accusations’ circulating on social media, alleging that Igbos in Edo were behind the attack. It warned against ethnic profiling, calling for unity and restraint.
Ohanaeze urged Igbos across Nigeria to remain peaceful, conduct their businesses lawfully, and avoid actions that could inflame tensions.
Expressing sympathy for the families of those killed, the organisation offered prayers for the repose of their souls.
