The Nigeria Police Force has issued a warning over a planned nationwide protest slated for April 7, the same day as the National Police Day celebration.
The demonstration, called by the Take-It-Back, TIB, movement, is expected to press for the repeal of the Cybercrime Act and an end to emergency rule in Rivers State, which organisers have likened to military dictatorship under President Bola Tinubu’s government.

In a statement, police spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi criticised the protest as ‘ill-timed and mischievous,’ questioning its true intent.
The Force has called on organisers to reconsider, urging constructive engagement with government institutions instead of public demonstrations.
