As the International Court of Justice continues hearings on Israel’s humanitarian obligations in the occupied Palestinian territories, Médecins Sans Frontières, MSF, has warned that legal proceedings may move too slowly to avert further catastrophe in Gaza.
The group says the enclave, under near-total blockade since March 2, faces worsening conditions, with aid, food, and medical supplies unable to reach those in need.
MSF’s head of emergencies, Claire Nicolet, described the situation as ‘dire on every level,’ adding that the current restrictions are crippling the organisation’s ability to deliver life-saving support.

She accused the international community of inaction in the face of what she called ‘indiscriminate and abhorrent cruelty.’
Ms. Nicolet urged states to exert greater pressure on Israeli authorities to allow unfettered humanitarian access, warning that continued delays will lead to yet more avoidable deaths in a region already gripped by extreme suffering.
