Oby Ezekwesili Rejects Bribery Claim Over Support for Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan

Former education minister Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili has dismissed claims she was paid to support Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, describing the allegation as false and baseless.

Mrs. Ezekwesili has publicly backed calls for an impartial investigation into the senator’s sexual harassment complaint against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, urging him to step aside while the matter is examined.

The claims against her stem from a UK-based activist, Sandra Duru, also known as “Professor Mgbeke”, who alleged that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan had confessed to fabricating the accusations and claimed the former minister was financially induced for her support.

In response, Mrs Ezekwesili maintained her support for the senator, insisting her principles are not for sale and that she remains firm in her advocacy. She stressed that no amount of money could buy her convictions, voice, and stance on any matter she chooses to support.
