President Bola Tinubu has condemned child bullying and pledged to create a safer, more inclusive environment for children across Nigeria. His message was issued in commemoration of the 2025 Children’s Day, themed “Stand Up, Speak Up: Building a Bullying-Free Generation.”
He described bullying, violence, and neglect as unacceptable, citing data showing that 65 percent of school-age children in Nigeria have experienced some form of aggression. Tinubu emphasised that a child who learns in fear cannot thrive.

The president announced the full implementation of Nigeria’s National Plan of Action on Ending Violence Against Children (2024–2030), which includes preventive strategies, prosecution of offenders, and victim support, underpinned by inter-agency collaboration and dedicated funding.
While praising all 36 states for domesticating the Child Rights Act, Tinubu called for broader ownership of child protection efforts by parents, educators, lawmakers, and faith leaders, stating: “Our children are the heart of our nation and deserve to grow in dignity, peace, and love.”
