NAFDAC Issues Warning Over Recalled US Multivitamins Sold Online

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has issued an alert over the recall of certain multivitamins and iron supplements sold in the United States under the brand name CINCINNATI (WKRC).

The agency said the affected products—available via major US retailers including Walmart and Amazon—pose a serious risk of poisoning in children due to the absence of child-resistant packaging.

According to a report by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, over 60,000 units are affected. The recall includes Daily Prenatal Multi, Ultamins Women’s Multivitamin, and Ultamins Women’s 50+ Multivitamin.

NAFDAC warned that ingestion by children could cause vomiting, abdominal pain, low blood pressure, or even liver damage—potentially fatal in severe cases.

Officials have been directed to identify and withdraw the products, while NAFDAC urged the public to report any suspected cases of substandard or falsified medicines to the nearest office or via 0800-162-3322, or [email protected]
