The Eze Ndigbo of Ibadan and Yorubaland, James Oramadike, has extended condolences to Governor Seyi Makinde, the people of Ibadan, and the royal family following the death of the 43rd Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, who passed away at age 90.
Describing the late monarch as a unifying figure, Oramadike praised his wisdom and leadership, calling his passing a great loss to Ibadanland.

He commended Ibadan’s rotational succession structure between the Otun and Balogun lines, noting that Oba Rashidi Ladoja, the most senior on the Otun line, is in line to succeed.
The Igbo leader urged other kingdoms to emulate Ibadan’s peaceful transition system and pledged continued support from the Igbo community towards the city’s progress.
