The All Progressives Congress has secured a sweeping victory in the Lagos State local government elections, winning all 20 local government chairmanship seats and all 37 chairmanship positions in the local council development areas.
The party also claimed 375 out of 376 councillor positions, leaving the Peoples Democratic Party with just one seat.

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission Chairperson, Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile, a retired Judge of the High Court of Lagos State, announced the results at the commission’s headquarters in Yaba.
She congratulated the winners but reminded them that their mandate should be seen as a duty to serve, not merely a cause for celebration.
