Benin took the lead through a first-half free-kick, but Nigeria levelled before the break and never looked back. Quickfire goals after the restart and relentless attacking saw the former African champions take charge of the contest.
With four points from two matches, Nigeria now sit top of Group A. They will advance as group winners unless Ghana manage to beat Benin by at least four goals in their final fixture on Wednesday.
