Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has paid tribute to the late former president, Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as a “cool patriot” who played his part as a soldier, administrator, and statesman.
Reacting to news of Buhari’s death in London, Obasanjo said the late president made significant contributions to the country’s social, economic, and political development.

He noted that Nigeria, especially in challenging times, needs the experience and wisdom of leaders like Buhari, adding that his absence will be deeply felt by family, friends, and the nation at large.
General Muhammadu Buhari first led Nigeria as military head of state from 1983 to 1985 and later served two terms as elected president from 2015 to 2023. His leadership focused on fighting corruption, economic reforms, and national security.
Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced soon, as tributes continue to pour in from across the country.
