The Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has issued a public warning over fraudulent schemes targeting aspiring teachers.
According to the Commission’s Permanent Secretary, Mrs Bopo Oyekan-Ismaila, scammers have been soliciting money from applicants with false promises of securing teaching jobs or influencing the shortlisting process.
She clarified that the online application phase for recruitment into the Lagos State Public Service has concluded, but shortlisting has not yet begun.

Mrs Oyekan-Ismaila stressed that the recruitment process is strictly merit-based and involves no financial transactions.
She urged applicants to disregard messages circulating on WhatsApp and other platforms asking for payment to guarantee employment or access dashboards.
The Commission has advised members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.
