The Federal Capital Territory Administration has signed an agreement with MAG International Links Ltd to develop “City Walk Abuja”, a lifestyle and commercial complex modelled after Dubai’s City Walk. The project, to be located on 200 hectares in Lugbe along Airport Road, is expected to feature residential, retail, hospitality, healthcare and institutional facilities.
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, who announced the deal at a ceremony in Abuja, said the land was originally allocated for the Abuja Technology Village but had remained undeveloped for over 20 years. He warned that the administration would revoke land allocations if developers failed to meet the agreed timeline and specifications.

Wike said the project would be executed in phases, with groundbreaking expected between July and August. The first phase is scheduled for completion by May 2026, to coincide with President Bola Tinubu’s third year in office. He added that the FCT would ensure infrastructure is in place and there would be no bureaucratic delays.
MAG’s Group Managing Director, Kassim Gidado, said the project would reflect Nigerian culture while transforming the Lugbe axis. He noted that recent reforms in the FCT have boosted investor confidence and pledged that City Walk Abuja would blend elegance, sustainability and economic value.
