Dozens Killed in Gaza as Aid Crisis Deepens, Famine Fears Rise

At least 40 Palestinians were reported killed on Monday following Israeli airstrikes and gunfire in Gaza, including 10 who died while seeking humanitarian aid, according to local health authorities.

Five others are said to have died from starvation, as aid agencies warn of an impending famine in the besieged enclave. Medics said the latest fatalities occurred near aid sites operated by the U.S.-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, GHF, bringing the toll of those killed while attempting to access food to over 1,000 since May.

In northern Gaza, 13 Palestinians were killed Sunday while waiting for aid at the Zikim crossing.

Amid shortages of burial shrouds and rising casualties, mourning families gathered at Al Shifa Hospital.

Israel has yet to comment on Sunday’s incident but insists Hamas is to blame for Gaza’s suffering and says efforts are ongoing to facilitate aid delivery.
