Troops of the 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, and Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke have rescued seven people abducted by suspected kidnappers along the Chinkai–Kente–Wukari road in Taraba State.
The victims, taken on 3 August, were freed in two separate operations. Four were found unharmed in Chinkai Forest on 5 August, while three women were rescued the following day in Owedi community, all within Wukari Local Government Area.

The kidnappers reportedly fled under sustained military pressure and superior firepower.
In a statement on Wednesday, Army spokesman Lieutenant Umar Muhammad described the rescue as a testament to the professionalism and resolve of the Nigerian Army.
Brigadier General Kingsley Uwa, who commands the Brigade and Operation Whirl Stroke in the region, praised the troops and reaffirmed the military’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks across Taraba State.
