The New Nigeria People’s Party has rejected the outcome of the Tsanyawa/Ghari State Constituency re-run in Kano, accusing the electoral commission of colluding with politicians to subvert voters’ will.
Kano NNPP chairman Hashimu Dungurawa alleged that INEC wrongly declared results at its state headquarters rather than the constituency centre, enabling what he called manipulation. He claimed results from ten polling units were illegally cancelled, reverting to disputed figures. While condemning Tsanyawa/Ghari, the NNPP praised the Shanono/Bagwai bye-election, where its candidate Ali Alhassan was declared winner.

The Labour Party also faulted Saturday’s by-elections across 16 states, citing vote-buying, violence and poor transparency. It described the polls as a setback for democracy, pointing to incidents in Kaduna, Anambra, Ogun, Oyo and Kano.
The party urged urgent reforms and pressed President Bola Tinubu to act swiftly to safeguard electoral credibility ahead of the 2027 general elections.
