Ogun APC suspends Senator Gbenga Daniel over alleged anti-party activities

The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended a former governor and current senator, Gbenga Daniel, over alleged anti-party activities. The party also suspended his loyalist, Kunle Folarin.

Ogun APC spokesperson, Nuberu Olufemi, said the suspensions were ratified by the state working committee after their respective wards in Shagamu Local Government accused them of misconduct.

According to the statement, Daniel and Folarin were invited to appear before disciplinary committees in their wards but failed to respond or present a defence. The committees said both men also attempted to pressure members to withdraw petitions against them.

The state working committee confirmed the suspensions, saying they will remain indefinite pending further investigations. The development comes amid reports of a rift between Senator Daniel and the incumbent governor, Dapo Abiodun.
