The coronation of former Oyo State governor Rashidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland has been scheduled for September 26 at Mapo Hall, Oja-Oba, in the state capital.
The date was confirmed after Governor Seyi Makinde approved his nomination, following a meeting between government officials, former Governor Ladoja, and the Olubadan Advisory Council. The state government is yet to issue an official statement.

Former Governor Ladoja, nominated by the Olubadan-in-Council on August 4 after the death of Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, said he had not expected to ascend the throne so soon. He reflected on the long journey since his installation as Jagun Balogun in 1993, noting that many contemporaries present then had since passed away.
He described his emergence as a sign that his purpose in life was yet to be fully realised.
