Police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the case has been assigned to a special squad to trace the forgery, uncover possible accomplices and establish whether the fake ID was used in earlier crimes.
Lagos Police Commissioner Olohundare Jimoh praised the army for the swift handover and urged stronger collaboration among security agencies. He also appealed to the public to stay alert and report suspicious activity.
The suspect is expected to face court after investigations.
