Former Zamfara Central Senator, Kabiru Garba Marafa, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress along with his political structure in Zamfara State. He made the announcement in Kaduna during a meeting of the Marafa Consultative Forum.
Marafa, who served in the Senate from 2011 to 2019, was the Zamfara coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Organisation during the 2023 presidential election. He had pledged to deliver the state for President Bola Tinubu without the president visiting Zamfara.

In a communique signed by leaders of his forum, Marafa and his supporters accused the APC and the federal government of neglecting Zamfara State, citing worsening insecurity, marginalisation, and lack of development.
The group also criticised the federal government for failing to protect citizens from persistent kidnappings and killings, and said their next political direction would be announced later.
