Lagos will host the 17th edition of the Best of Nollywood Awards on 14 December at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island. The organisers also plan to attempt a Guinness World Record with an eight-kilometre-long red carpet.
The announcement was made at a ceremony where Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu received the hosting rights. The delegation included Nollywood stars Segun Arinze, Biola Adebayo, Femi Branch, Wole Ojo and Scarlet Gomez.

Founder Seun Oloketuyi said bringing the awards back to Lagos marks a return to where the event began before touring several states across Nigeria. The organisers described Lagos as the heart of the country’s creative economy.
Governor Sanwo-Olu pledged continued support for the creative sector, emphasising its role in empowering young people, creating jobs and giving a voice to emerging talents. He praised the organisers for elevating Nigeria’s film industry.
