Israeli authorities say six people have been killed and at least 12 others wounded in a shooting attack in occupied East Jerusalem. Paramedics reported that six of the injured are in serious condition.
Police described the incident as a suspected terror attack, saying two gunmen arrived in a vehicle and opened fire at a bus station near Ramot Junction. Both attackers were shot dead by a security officer and a civilian.

Following the attack, Israeli forces closed all checkpoints between East Jerusalem and the West Bank. Army Radio reported that four Palestinian villages in the Jerusalem governorate were placed under military cordon as raids were launched.
The Israeli military said it had reinforced troops in the wider Jerusalem area and was carrying out a search for possible accomplices linked to the shooting.
