At least 41 people, including aid seekers, were killed in Gaza within 24 hours as Israel intensified airstrikes on Gaza City while ordering mass evacuations ahead of an expected ground offensive. The military urged residents to move to al-Mawasi in southern Gaza, though the area is already overcrowded and has itself come under attack.
The United Nations estimates only a small fraction of the city’s one million residents have left, with many saying they do not trust Israel’s assurances of safety. Human rights groups, including Amnesty International, condemned the evacuation order, describing it as unlawful and worsening civilian suffering.

Meanwhile, Gaza faces worsening famine, with five more deaths from starvation reported. International pressure on Israel is mounting, with EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen calling for sanctions and trade restrictions, warning that man-made famine must not be used as a weapon of war.
