Bandits Abduct Over 50 in Zamfara Attacks on Mosque and Villages

Armed bandits have abducted more than 50 people in separate attacks across Zamfara state. Forty worshippers were taken during dawn prayers on Monday at a mosque in Gidan Turbe village, Tsafe local government area.

The gunmen surrounded the mosque at about 5:30am and marched the victims into nearby forests along the Gohori axis. The incident came a day after reports of a peace deal involving local leaders and armed groups in neighbouring Katsina and other states.
