VP Shettima says Nigeria must revive rail to remain Africa’s logistics hub

Vice President Kashim Shettima says Nigeria must revive its railway services to remain Africa’s leading logistics hub. He made the call in Abuja while declaring open the second International Railway Conference.

Shettima highlighted ongoing projects such as the Kano–Maradi, Lagos–Kano, and Port Harcourt–Maiduguri modernisation lines, saying they would ease pressure on roads, cut accidents, and create new trade routes under the African Continental Free Trade Area.
