The Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory Area Councils has appealed to striking resident doctors in Abuja to suspend their industrial action. The committee assured the doctors that their grievances were being addressed and pledged to escalate the matter to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Committee chairman Senator David Jimkuta met with leaders of the National Association of Resident Doctors, FCT chapter, during an emergency session on Thursday. He said the strike was taking a heavy toll on healthcare delivery in the capital.
