Three Killed and Thousands Affected by Flash Floods in Adamawa

National Emergency Management Agency says three people have died and more than 1,400 households have been affected by flash floods in Adamawa State. The floods followed heavy rainfall on Tuesday in Yola North and Yola South local government areas.

NEMA confirmed that over 40 people were injured, while farmlands and key infrastructure were submerged. Thirteen communities were affected, leaving many families displaced and livelihoods disrupted.

The agency said some displaced families have been relocated to a flood resettlement camp in Girei, while others are sheltering with host communities. It identified food, shelter, medical aid, and clean water as urgent humanitarian needs.

NEMA has urged residents in flood-prone areas to remain alert and adhere to early warning advisories as the rainy season continues. It pledged to work with state authorities and humanitarian partners to provide timely relief and support.
