Six people have been rescued after a two-storey building collapsed at Modupeola Street, Mangoro, in Alimosho, Lagos State. The incident happened around six o’clock on Wednesday evening, and the cause has not yet been established.
Lagos Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed the collapse in a statement posted on X. He said emergency responders, led by the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority, arrived promptly at the scene and pulled the victims from the rubble.

Five of the survivors were treated at a nearby private hospital. Another victim, a 44-year-old man who sustained a fracture and bruises, was taken by LASAMBUS to LASUTH’s Surgical Emergency Unit, where he was admitted in stable condition.
Officials have opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collapse.
